Our Members are Managers, Creators, and Thought Leaders

“Any cowork manager, creator, owner and/or operator is a good fit for this group. What sets our members apart is the fact that they understand the power of a strong community, are committed to participating, and are taking innovative steps to make a positive impact on our industry.”

– Chris Cooley, Cowork University

“I have to tell you that it was such a GREAT experience being on the call. I do not think I realized that I had missed being part of something “bigger” than what we have going on here.”

– Carey Vollmers @ MalamaDoe – Milwaukee, WI, USA

“I was a little dubious about having so many people in one conversation online but it worked really well! I really enjoyed it! It is great to connect with like-minded people who understand the ins and outs of managing a coworking space.”

– Nicola Parr @ Amp – Vancouver, BC, Canada

“I really enjoyed the session. I liked the group participation, it was nice to hear about how other coworker managers are dealing with issues. You are a great resource. I look forward to the next meeting. Thank you!”

– Betsey Elbogen @ Perch Studios, Carrboro, NC, USA

“OMGGGGGGGGG your community is AWESOME! Even just being on that call for 15 minutes and listening in has got me so pumped up! Thanks for inviting me on today!”

Where are you located?

We are located in Swindon in the United Kingdom. It’s about a 1 hour drive from London, 1 hour the other side to Bristol, and 45 minutes or so to Oxford. Around 200,000 people live here!

How many members enjoy your coworking space?

43 members in our space, 10 of which are full time residents and the rest tend to come in on average once a week!

What is the reason you opened your coworking space?

Having moved back to Swindon after starting a business abroad, I started to get lonely and bored of working for myself. I was losing motivation and couldn’t work out why. I tried coffee shops, libraries, Regus hotdesk lounges but just couldn’t knack it.

Where are you located?

We have two location in Asbury Park, New Jersey, a beach town situated about 1 hour from NYC and 1 hour from Philly. We’re also working on a 3rd location at the Jersey Shore.

How many members enjoy your coworking space?

We currently have 18 private offices across two locations and about 30 “common area” desk spaces. We have about 300 members in our community.

What is the reason you opened your coworking space?

We initially started in a smaller space to subsidize the cost of rent for another business of ours but as coworking has become more of a staple for freelancers and small businesses we’ve really embraced the concept of serving as a community hub for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and other business professionals in our region.

Where are you located?

We have two locations in Portland, Oregon. We are located on both sides of the river, in the Pearl district’s historic GE Supply Co. building, and in the Slate at the Burnside bridgehead at Couch and MLK, in the Central Eastside.

How many members enjoy your coworking space?

We have about 200 members at each location including open members, dedicated desk members and private offices that range in size from 2-20 person. We also have meeting rooms at both locations that we rent out to both members and non-members for groups ranging in size from 3 to 20 people.

What is the reason you opened your coworking space?

We were looking for a creative, inspiring space for entrepreneurs and small teams to work but we couldn’t find anything. There were amazing workspaces for people at big companies like Google, Apple and Nike; and some architecture, design, and advertising agencies; but nothing for free agents, entrepreneurs, and start-ups. This is the blurb from our owner and brand book: “We wanted to make a creative and productive workspace that was comfortable like a pair of blue jeans. One with the social feeling of a coffee house and the efficiency of a factory.”

Where are you located?

Hamburg, Germany is a great place to work & live and I’m super excited about the next part of our story.

How many members enjoy your coworking space?

We have space for up to 90 people who could be in the open space, use the fixed desks, meeting and team rooms. We have had many people utilize the super flexible passes but this is starting to settle and those one day a week people are staying much longer now.

What is the reason you opened your coworking space?

It was a mixture of a personal need and a group problem. After some hard times moving from England to Germany, I noticed many creatives, home workers, freelancers, influencers and innovators didn’t have a supportive and ambitious community focused space to work from. What started off as an opportunity to leverage my relationships developed as a passion project. I realised many of my business ideas and dreams intersected at a platform like what Shhared is becoming.
